With the great regrets we have come to a conclusion that we will be closing the masjid today straight after Asr, InshaAllah. Masjid will be remain close for communal prayers until further notice.
This decision has not been taken lightly. But just as in last March, when we and many other masjids closed even before the Government announced a national lockdown, we’re putting the safety of our congregation, our staff and our volunteers above our strong desire to maintain communal worship. This decision has been made in consultation with scholars, imams and ulama of the country.
We will soon be starting our Early Years Weekend Playgroup for children aged between 3 and 6 in the new year. To provide a fun, friendly introduction to the Masjid with Basic Duas and Arabic Letters.
The Maktab at Cann Hall is one of the first, and most important, services offered by the Masjid to the community. We aim to provide a quality Islamic education for our children in a comfortable and enjoyable environment.
The CHDET has prayer rooms equipped with wudu facilities open for the daily prayers which are available for quiet contemplation and reading with dedicated facilities for both men & women on separate floors. The mosque facilities both male and female worshippers in these halls for the 5 daily prayers, Jum’uah and Eid
The ‘Sadat Patel’ Library is dedicated to one of the Masjids first volunteers who spent the last couple of years of his life in building the Masjid. The space is open for study and quiet reading, the library boasts a wide range of books covering many aspects of the Islamic faith in various languages.
CHDET are able to facilitate marriage solemnisation according to Islamic traditions and laws. The couple will be presented with a marriage certificate confirming their union and its being conducted by the Imam at The Cann Hall Deen & Education Trust.
